SubjectiveArt.com : My Blog!

I started a blog and put it at SubjectiveArt.com. Since I have plenty of artworks both sold and unsold, theoretically I should be able to have an entry per day and go on for years. The last thing I want is to have a static blog, and I see the key is to try not to overwhelm myself. Writing is the hardest part. I like to write, but writing something every day is another story, and English being my second language makes matters much harder. I will post only a photo on days that I don't feel like writing.

I made the blog non interactive. Yes, Internet enables me to reach out to people whom I couldn't reach otherwise. But I think one of the side effects of Internet is that it connects people too much that I often come across people I wish I didn't get to know. Besides, I don't really have time to read and respond to comments.

My First Art Festival! - Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts: February 7th Saturday & 8th Sunday, 2009

Feeling comfortable and confident with setting up a booth by myself after two months of “training” at local farmers markets, I will set my art booth at Art Fair in Hobe Sound. I'm no longer scared of using my wireless credit card machine, as I now know it works just fine. All credit card sales I made during my “training” went smoothly, receiving all findings in my bank account on time.

21st Annual Las Olas Art Fair Part II: March 7th Saturday & 8th Sunday, 2009

My art booth will be at the 21st Annual Las Olas Art Fair Part II on Saturday - Sunday, March 07 - 08, 2009, Show Hours are 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on both days, with no fees.

My Art Booth at Farmers Market Goes on

I am considering to include other artists' works in my art booth at farmers markets (not in art fairs but only at farmers markets) because most artists are not equipped with presentation panels, canopy, credit card machine, and so on, which comes out to be an expensive investment. In the recent economical change a lot of art galleries vanished, and I assume some artists lost their vehicle to reach out to the public. The details are not yet determined, but if you are a local artist interested in giving it a shot, let me know. Come and visit my art booth and see what I am doing. To give you an idea, on the worst day I sold only one painting, and having sold 8 pieces a day was the best record I have had so far. I typically sell 2 to 4 pieces per day. I need to warn you, though, that my prices are unbeatable. However, even if you may make no sale, it is a good exposure opportunity.

Saturday, February 14 : Green Market at Legion Park

I discontinued this location as I find doing this twice a week continuously very tiring.

Sundays, February 22 and 29: Surfside Marketplace

At the Surfside Marketplace, only a block away from the beach and also a block away from Bal Harbour Shops.

I had ran out of pink/red pieces as I continued to sell pink/red. People started digging blue this time, so blue pieces are nearly all gone. For instance, all the pieces in this photo below were sold, and I no longer own them.

In this booth shot, the brown painting at left bottom, the four piece in the middle, and the brownish odd shaped thing at the right bottom were sold at farmers markets. The one at left top and the two at the upper right are still available as of today.
