The opening reception took place on the 11th of
August, 2007 in Ingolstadt, Germany, thanks to Kozue Sato-Stiller,
Gallery Maar, and their associates. People I don’t even know how
to spell or pronounce their names made the opening successful,
and a lot of help was given, out of kindness more than other reasons.
This exhibition was not only about my art but also
about our mystic reunion after more than three decades. Kozue,
who went to kindergarten with me in Japan thirty some years ago,
found me by the Internet search engine, "Google" in
September 2006. Although we had not had a contact all those years,
we found that both of us independently left Japan on the same
year, 1992. I entered the USA in 1992 August, and she went to
Germany in 1992 June, for good. We now both speak the languages
of the lands we live in.
Kozue is a professional flutist in Germany, playing
mainly classic music. At the opening she and her colleague, Kai,performed
their improvisation, just so the music matches my abstract art.
